The island of Mactan is littered with world-class resorts. These resorts cater to different types of travelers and offer a wide range of services to its guests. Although most of these establishments pride themselves in being unique and original, only a handful actually stand out.
This week, I paid Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan in Soong, Mactan a visit and I must say that I now know why they’re giving the competition a really tough time. Read on to find out why Crimson is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced.
1. The 3-level Infinity Pool
The first thing that will greet you upon arrival is the resort’s infinity pool. The 3-level infinity pool is perfect for mid-day laps or late afternoon dips with family and friends. Or, if you just want a quiet, relaxing swim while enjoying a wonderful view of the beach just a couple of meters away, you can drop by the pool early in the morning.

If you want to reward yourself with some pampering, be sure to check out Crimson’s award-winning Aum Spa. Voted the Top 8 Hotel Spa in the World in 2013, the spa offers excellent services that will surely rejuvenate your body and revitalize your spirit.
3. Family-Friendly Activities
Vacations at the beach don’t always have to be about swimming and lots of sleep. At Crimson, guests can take part in daily facilitated activities for the whole family. Each morning, guests receive a calendar of activities offered by the resort that they can participate in. Kids up to 12 years of age can also enjoy the resort’s indoor, outdoor, and imagination play facilities.
4. Heartfelt Service
The first thing that you will notice and feel upon arrival is the positive vibe that the whole place gives off. As soon as you enter the premises, you will be welcomed by members of the resort staff who will greet you with their hand on their heart. This unique and special gesture is the resort’s promise of heartfelt service. Pretty nice, I must say.
5. Four Unique Restaurants
If vacations are all about food for you, then there’s no need to worry. Crimson has four different restaurants that will surely take good care of your tummy.
Score Sports Bar – Serves drinks and snacks. Also has billiards, chess, darts, and… wait for it.. karaoke!
Saffron Café – Serves international buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Tempo – Serves pan-asian dishes. Also serves house specialties and seasonal dishes.

6. Amazing Watersports Activities
Crimson offers a wide array of water sports activities to make your stay truly memorable. You can go jet skiing, banana boat riding, para-sailing and kayaking. And here’s the best part, the snorkeling experience at Crimson is just out of this world. The resort now has its own 8-ha marine sanctuary that hosts 2 nurseries and is home to over a hundred different species of fishes and corals. Amazing, right?
7. Peace and quiet
If you want total peace, quiet, and relaxation, you’ve come to the right place. Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan’s sprawling property has a web of well-paved walkways for long meditative walks, quiet nooks for introspection, and open spaces to let you breathe and just let go of your worries.
8. Azure Beach Club
If you want a perfect way to end a long day of fun and adventure, head on to the Azure Beach Club. This seaside restaurant serves Modern Asian dishes and has both day and night menus. After a hearty meal, be sure to check out the amazing rock bar at the edge of the cliff for a nightcap with friends old and new.
